Restaurants in the UK to visit on a date night

Restrictions in Wales have now changed and a mask is not a legal requirement for indoor hospitality. We have been advised to encourage our diners to wear a mask when moving around the restaurant. We will not enforce mask wearing, but want our customers to feel comfortable with/without a mask.

At the moment we will carry on with all other procedures we have in place such as booking time slots, sanitising of tables menus etc and social distancing.

We have finally received confirmation that indoor hospitality in Wales can reopen. We will be reopening from Thursday 20th May at 6pm. We are now dealing with the mammoth task of getting back in contact with all provisional bookings we had taken and making them aware of restrictions in place. Please bear with us we prepare for reopening. Over the next few days our website will be updated with all the current regulations (that we know about!), our upcoming availability and menu.

Well after more restrictions imposed by the government we have had to close our restaurant since the beginning of December. We have been busy getting hampers and vouchers out to our customers for Christmas, and have a busy few days ahead with our 'stress free Christmas'. 

At the moment we don't have any guidance as to when we will be allowed to reopen. We will have to wait for the next government update mid January for more information.

Thank you to everyone for their support this year. It has been a very different year for us, but we have seen it as a blessing in disguise as we have been given precious time with our baby daughter. We hope that 2021 will be a better year for everyone....

This Christmas we have a few new things to offer.

Vouchers - these can be purchased for any amount, and due to the current situation will be valid for 2 years. For a small additional cost, we can post vouchers out to loved ones with a gift message. These vouchers do not have to be used to dine with us - they can also be used to purchase any of our homemade produce

Hampers - we will be offering a variety of hamper for any budget. They can include any of our homemade chutneys and jams, Barmouth Biscuits, and maybe even a bottle of wine or beer! Vouchers can also be added to the hampers

Bakery - it was a great success in the summer months so we will be offering our freshly made bread, crumpets, scotch eggs, and desserts once again. These also can be made up into a hamper for you to deliver to a loved one.

Stress Free Christmas - We will be offering a few ready-made items to take the stress out of your Christmas Dinner. These will be available for pre order and collection before the big day!

RE-OPENING FRIDAY 13TH NOVEMBER

After all the guidance updates and travel restrictions put in force by the Government, we were unsure if we should reopen at the moment. But after a few enquiries we have decided we will be open for dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings throughout November and December. We will be offering a 2 or 3 course Winter Warmer Menu which includes a glass of wine. We look forward to welcoming you all back 🙂 

Please take note of the current regulations - 

- Advance Bookings only

- Only people living in Wales may dine with us

- Details for track and trace must be provided (A form of ID will be required)

- Tables of up to 4 only

- We open at 6pm and will be closing at 10pm

- A 2-hour time slot will be allocated to each booking

- Face Masks to be worn when not sat at the table

As the season has now changed from Summer to Autumn it means it is now time to change our menu. We have an a la carte menu and our Winter Warmer Menu. This option proved very popular last year so we have bought it back to help warm you up on these cold dark nights.  We will also be closing 2 nights a week now, and are planning our opening hours for the coming months (depending on restrictions!)

Well that was back to work with a bang! We would just like to say thank you for all your support since reopening. we have had our busiest August and September - we lost track of how many of these delicious Shell Island Lobsters we served! Now we need to plan for the months ahead in the hope that we can stay open.

We will be reopening on MONDAY 3RD AUGUST. We are now taking bookings, but please bear with us if there are any changes to the government advice and guidelines. To help us follow government guidelines and social distancing, please take the following into consideration:

• Bookings are limited and staggered. Please arrive at the time you have booked for, and leave on time if you have been told the table is needed - this is to give us enough time to sanitise the tables between customers.
• Contact details will be kept for 21 days for contact tracing.
• A deposit of £5 per person will be taken to secure the booking.
• Hand sanitiser will be provided.
• Please stay seated at the table as much as possible. Everything will be table service
• The bare minimum will be on the tables, if anything is required e.g. salt and pepper, then these will have to be requested.
• Hard copies of our menu, drinks & wine list will be available - this copy will stay on the table for the whole of the booking. We will also have a QR Code, which can be scanned to read the menus etc. on your phone/tablet.
• Interaction will be limited to help adhere to social distancing guidelines. If there is a problem, please call us over.
• One Toilet will be available for use. This will be cleaned thoroughly every day, but there will also be antibacterial spray available for customers use.
• On Payment, we will take cash, yet we will encourage contactless payments as much as possible.

We will be taking part in the 'Eat Out to Help Out' scheme, starting from Monday 3rd August. There are no vouchers or codes needed, just eat with us Monday to Wednesday throughout August and you will automatically get up to £10 per person off your bill on food and non-alcoholic drinks.
